BTW, here are some of Rich's stories:

http://www.bleedingcool.com/?s=dabel+brothers&x=0&y=0

I'm glad to hear Neil Schwartz is no longer there. Neil took over after me and really didn't know what he was getting himself into.

Joel,

I sent you an e-mail. And to anyone reading -- I witnessed the same thing happening all the time when I was working with the Dabels. Another common claim was, "it got lost in the mail." The Dabels must have a really bad local post office, because they seem to lose a LOT of merchandise. Once, they claimed an entire set of t-shirts they were mailing out went missing off the post office dock! It sounded pretty fishy to me.

A word to the wise -- DO NOT order items from their website. Buy from a web-based comic book retailer like Silver Bullet Comics. Retailers are far more reliable. They get their goods through Diamond, not directly from Dabel, and they will refund your money if your order falls through.

If you are in a situation like Joel's, I suggest reporting Dabel Brothers Publishing, LLC to your credit card company and reversing any charges made. Credit card companies have lawyers who can fight it out on your behalf. If you paid with a debit card, report the incident to your bank as well.

You can try to file with the BBB, but the bad thing about the BBB is that they have no enforcement powers. I would recommend instead emailing Rich Johnston at richjohnston@gmail.com and asking him to feature your problem on his website at http://bleedingcool.com/. Rich has a long history of reporting the problems the Dabels have had.

I wondered if you knew of anyway to contact Dabel today. I have been waiting months on a Robert Jordan comic they informed me I would get in a few business days.

I have been repeatedly ignored, except for once, after frequent emails asking what the delay was, Les Dabel responded by asking "did you not receive my email?" After replying that I had not, I have again been ignored and heard nothing.

I just finished submitting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, though I doubt it will do much.

Sean, sir, I know how you feel man. Promises, promises promises, but in the end all you are left with are questions. Leaving was the right thing man. The right thing indeed.

What a mess! You should have gotten out of this years ago. Rom 6:21 says, "What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death." Nominal Christians will only sorely disappoint those who seek truth and square dealing. Work for Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Ghost, and forget about all this worldly mess that is unprofitable and irrelevant in the light of eternity. You weren't called to this, or to the ant hill, but to Mount Zion for far more glorious things which can only be obtained by prayer and faith.
