Talkin’ bout my (next website) Generation…

It’s 2009, and once again, I’ve decided to change the format of my website.

All of the old content will remain archived, so don’t worry — it’s still here. I’ve even still got my Star Wars: Epic Duels page (written in 2002) available since it’s apparently still in use!

But with that said, here’s what’s going to happen from now on. I’m getting tired of writing articles about marketing and publishing, but I’d love to be sounding off about my various areas of interest. I’d also like a format that’s a little easier for me to keep updated and that doesn’t make me feel like I need to do so much research.

So, I’m going to arrange posts by the following topics:

Movie Monday: I talk about a movie. Any movie. It might be a review, or it might be my thoughts on filmmaking in general.

Technology Tuesday:  I talk about technology. I might review a snazzy product that I like, like my Blackberry Storm or my homebrew-enabled PSP. I might talk about technology in the future. I might complain about people who buy Apple products. I might explain why Microsoft’s OneNote is the best program they’ve made in over a decade.

Video Game Wednesday: I talk about video games. I might review a great old game, or do a meta analysis of a series. I might list the top 10 games in some weird category. I might tell you how to run a video game store correctly.

Television Thursday: I talk about television. I might review a show, or talk about why a show has gone downhill since its glory days. I might list the top 10 shows that got cancelled early. I might critique the television industry and explain why Nielsen ratings are a bunch of baloney.

Philosophy Friday: I talk about philosophy. I might give a quick overview of a philosopher’s ideas, or I might suggest my own. It’ll be interesting, I promise.

Skeptical Saturday: I talk about skepticism, generally involving  some sort of business or marketing context. I might do an accompanying podcast. We’ll see how much time I have.

Sound-off Sunday: I talk about anything I want to. I could talk about playing the Banjo, or why you don’t want a smart dog, or offer a top 10 list of my favorite board games.

This should be a fun mix! And, I’m hoping it will keep me doing something I’ve never been good at: updating the site every day. We’ll see.

With that said… HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here’s to hoping 2009 is the best year yet.

Tuesdays you might want to check out Linux and Ubuntu since your Vista experience seems to be a bit frustrating. Picking on Mac people just alienates and polarizes as Mac people “know” that Apple products are superior. ; )
